Penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia sebagai Representasi Kondisi Sosial Masyarakat pada Film Jakarta vs Everybody (2021)

Abstract

In society there are different social conditions, based on each field. Films have the characteristic of adopting or imitating everyday life so that they can show the way a group of people interact with each other. In this example, the film Jakarta vs Everybody uses a non-formal language style, the dialogue in this film combines everyday language typical of young people in big cities, including a mixture of Indonesian and English which is often used by the younger generation. In this interaction there is a depiction of different social conditions between the characters which apparently shows differences in the way of speaking used. This research uses a qualitative approach to analyze the differences in the variety of languages used by the characters. The type of research used is analysis with a focus on analyzing the relationship between the way of speaking and the dialogue used when the characters interact with each other as well as the form of scene interaction they carry out when saying the dialogue. Based on the results of research on the film Jakarta vs Everybody, it can be concluded that the social conditions in the film greatly influence the use of Indonesian in the dialogue. This usually happens in big cities because there are differences in regional backgrounds and social conditions which have a big influence on the slang someone uses.
