Abstract

Religious film is one of the types of film that is popular among Indonesian moviegoers, especially the Moslems, because it conveys Islam’s religious teaching through the theme of the story brought to life on screen. To support religious-themed films, the art direction requires knowledge about the signs and principles that go according to the Islamic teaching. Knowledge and mastery about this matter becomes something that art directors need to equip themselves with, so that the public can make the film in question a source of knowledge about certain religious teaching. This is also to ensure the acceptance of the general public moviegoers, who are mostly Moslems.
